Stop Excessive Sweating

Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is a common condition whose precise causes have not been discovered, yet. It can be embarrassing, so finding a way to stop sweating is very important.
People who suffer from this condition tend to stay away from team sports and crowded places and choose their clothes carefully. Social events, and most of all the ones that involve the opposite sex, are avoided.
This health problem seems to be among the conditions that affect people both physically and psychologically.

Even though there are many ways to stop sweating, the majority of the people who confront this problem do not know about them. According to a study that has been conducted in 2004, about 66% of the people who had excessive sweat had never looked for medical advice. As this health condition is perceived by the others as poor hygiene and deviousness, people who suffer from hyperhidrosis tend to become solitary.

Sweat is produced in order to keep the body cool. When the quantity of sweat exceeds the necessary amount for maintaining the temperature within normal limits, then people suffer from hyperhidrosis. The areas that are affected by this health problem are usually the hands, feet, underarms and face. Hyperhidrosis usually starts during adolescence, but people notice it a few years later in the majority of the cases.

When the temperature is rising, the brain sends a signal to the sweat glands so that the body gets cooled down. In people with excessive sweating, this signal addresses the sweat glands only from specific areas. Anxiety is considered not to be a direct cause of this health problem, but when people with hyperhidrosis are anxious, they sweat even more. In order to stop sweating, it is necessary to control other conditions that may lead to excessive sweating.
